#Shaman King Characters Talk about Ghostbusters: Afterlife Film’s Highlights in Special Collaboration Clip

Ten days prior to its release in Japan, Sony Picture’s official Japanese YouTube channel has started streaming a special collaboration clip between Ghostbusters: Afterlife, the latest installment in the supernatural comedy film franchise Ghostbusters, and the Shaman King anime franchise.

The collaboration was made possible by the fact that they have many things in common and that Yoko Hikasa (Yo Asakura), Minami Takayama (Hao Asakura), and Romi Park (Tao Ren) appear in both. The three respectively play Lucku Domingo, Podcast, and Callie Spengle in the film’s Japanese dub. In addition to the three, Amidamaru voiced by Katsuyuki Konishi, Manta Oyamada by Inuko Inuyama, and Anna Kyoyama by Megumi Hayashibara appear in the clip to give an overview of Ghostbusters: Afterlife to Yo, who had never heard of it.

“‘SHAMAN KING’ came back to life after 20 years, and so did ‘Ghostbusters: Afterlife,'” Hikasa says. “And I felt that the keyword was to take over the soul and revive it. A mysterious connection between spirit and spirit, soul and soul. I’m so happy that we’ve been able to realize a collaboration that will please all the fans who’ve supported the two series for so long, all the people who’ve been waiting for them! I hope you will enjoy these two series that have encountered together at the same time in 2022.”

Two and a half months behind the release in the US, Ghostbusters: Afterlife will be released in Japan on February 4, 2022.
