#Shade and Soots Linger in Shadows House TV Anime Trailer

Emilyko, a Living Doll, wears a curious expression as she crouches to clean something up in a scene from the upcoming Shadows House TV anime.

A new trailer full of strange sites and sounds is now available online for Shadows House, an upcoming TV anime based on the Gothic manga by somato about a clan of shadow-people passing their days in a vast and mysterious Western-style mansion. The trailer (below) features the ending theme song for the series, entitled “Nai Nai” (“No No”), which is performed by ReoNa.

Serialized since 2018 in Shueisha’s Weekly Young JumpShadows House is set in a mysterious, Western-style mansion populated by a clan of “Shadows” who imitate the trappings of human aristocracy. The Shadows have no faces of their own, so they are attended by “living dolls” who act as their caretakers. The story follows Emilyko, a living doll, and Kate Shadow, the Shadow whom Emilyko serves. In the strange house where no guests come to visit, even today soot and shrill voices swirl…

A key visual for the upcoming Shadows House TV anime, featuring a dual image of the Shadows at the top of the frame and - posed like a mirror reflection at the bottom of the frame - their Living Doll attendants.

The Shadows House TV anime is directed by Kazuki Ohashi and features animation production by CloverWorks. Shadows House is scheduled to broadcast in Japan on TOKYO MX, BS11, Gunma TV, Tochigi TV, and other stations beginning on April 10, 2021.
