“Seven Seas Entertainment Licenses Shin Plus-Sized Elf, We Started a Threesome!, & More Manga”

Seven Seas Entertainment has announced the licensing of five new manga series, with some titles set for release under the publisher’s Ghost Ship and BL imprints. The new licensed titles include Shin Plus-Sized Elf, The White Mage Doesn’t Want to Raise the Hero’s Level, Into the Tentacle Cave, Training Mister Sakurada, and We Started a Threesome!

Here are the full details for each of the upcoming releases


Shin Plus-Sized Elf is the sequel series to Synecdoche’s Plus-Sized Elf manga series, which will also receive a rerelease in North America. 

Shin Plus-Sized Elf was first serialized in Akita Shoten’s Dokodemo Young Champion magazine on October 26, 2021, under the Young Champion Comics imprint. Two tankoubon volumes have been released as of February 2023.

The first volume will be released in September 2023 as physical printed single volume editions. Meanwhile, the first rerelease volume of Plus-Sized Elf will be released in August 2023, with Volumes 1-7 available in print as single volume editions with new covers. 

Seven Seas describes the Shin Plus-Sized Elf manga as: 

Naoe-kun, a massage therapist, is about to head home for the day when he’s saddled with a rather strange patient. This lovely lady has emerald eyes, pointy ears, and grew up in the forest–everything about her screams “elf,” except for one thing: her bodacious body. It turns out she left her world but loves junk food in this one, and now her obsession has caught up with her. Can Naoe-kun help this lovable elf girl lose the weight–and keep it off? The hit series Plus-Sized Elf continues in its sequel series, Shin Plus-Sized Elf!


Kirie’s romantic comedy fantasy manga The White Mage Doesn’t Want to Raise the Hero’s Level will also be released in North America for the first time. It was first serialized in Flex Comix’s Comic Meteor website on December 16, 2020 after starting out as a one-shot in March 2020. Four tankoubon volumes have been released as of March 2023. 

The manga’s first volume will be released in January 2024 as single volume editions. Ebook editions will also be available on digital platforms.

Seven Seas describes The White Mage Doesn’t Want to Raise the Hero’s Level as: 

Irie Izumi was summoned to a fantasy world to defeat the Demon King…but first he needs to grow more powerful. In his quest to level up his skills, he forms a party with the voluptuous white mage Sheena. If Irie triumphs against the Demon King, however, he’ll return to his world—and the lovestruck Sheena has no intention of letting that happen. Into the Tentacle Cave is a mature dark fantasy manga series by Abi, based on the light novel series written by Umetane and illustrated by Fufukuro. It was serialized in Nico Nico Seiga and ComicWalker under Kadokawa’s Comic Vamp label on December 10, 2021. Two tankoubon volumes have been released as of November 2022.

Volume one will be released for the first time in North America in October 2023. The series will be available in single volume editions as part of Seven Seas’ Ghost Ship imprint. Ebook editions will also be released on digital platforms.

Seven Seas describes the story of Into the Tentacle Cave as: 

Deep in the tunnels of an abandoned mine lurks a demon that absorbs the power of anything it touches: the Black Ooze. When it consumes its first human male, it acquires both intelligence and ravenous sexual desire, much to the distress of a sorceress who mistakenly enters its domain. The heroes who seek glory and riches in these caverns are about to learn why monsters should be feared!


Seven Seas will also release Kaya Azuma’s BL manga Training Mister Sakurada about a businessman and his new co-worker entering into a steamy workplace romance. It was serialized in Takeshobo’s Reiji Uno! magazine from June 1, 2017 to November 1, 2018. A single tankoubon volume has been released. 

Training Mister Sakurada will be released for the first time in North America in November 2023. It will be available as a single large-trim edition under the Seven Seas BL label (Boys’ Love titles). An ebook edition will also be available on digital platforms.

Seven Seas describes the synopsis as: 

Sakurada Hajime is thirsty—for a girlfriend and a good time. He can’t get enough of women, even though they’ve been steadily losing interest in him since the playboy days of his 20s. Katsu Aki’s polyamorous romantic comedy manga We Started a Threesome! Will also be released in North America for the first time. The manga series comes from the creator of the long-running 1988 Futari Ecchi series. 

Katsu launched the manga in Shogakukan’s Big Comic 4 website from December 2018 to April 2021. Three tankoubon volumes have been released in total.

The first volume of We Started a Threesome! will be released in December 2023 as single volume editions.

The manga is described by Seven Seas as: 

Ria, Suisei, and Emito are childhood friends who fell in love with each other. Now they share a home as a married throuple! In the morning Ria and Suisei commute to work, and at night Emito cooks delicious meals he hopes they’ll enjoy. Follow their daily lives as they face challenges, celebrate victories, and indulge in the more intimate side of marriage together. A story about polyamory by the creator of the famous married life manga Futari H (Manga Sutra)!
