Seven Seas Entertainment has announced the acquisition of three new webtoon comics that will be receiving print publication for the first time. The new titles include popular manhwa series A Stepmother’s Märchen and Who Made Me a Princess, as well as Amongst Us — a Girls Love webcomic from Hiveworks Comics. 

Here are the full details for each of the newest titles from Seven Seas Entertainment:   

The first new license is the manhwa webtoon series A Stepmother’s Märchen, written by Spice&kitty and illustrated by ORKA. The manhwa is a full-color fantasy comic of romance, drama, and second chances. It was originally published by the online comic website Kakaopage in Korea and released as The Fantasie of a Stepmother in English under the Tapas Media digital platform. 

The first print volume of A Stepmother’s Märchen will be released for the first time in North America in August 2023. It will be available in single large-trim paperback editions.

Seven Seas describes the manhwa series as: 

The marchioness Shuri Von Neuschwanstein is no stranger to hardship: her husband dies when she’s still a teenager, leaving her to manage his lands and raise his semi-grown children herself. Her stepchildren never warm up to her, and other nobles disparage her behind her back. Years later, however, it seems her efforts have finally paid off: her eldest stepson is to be married and take over the estate, freeing her of many responsibilities. But shortly after learning the cruel truth that she’s not invited to his wedding, she dies and wakes up on the day of her husband’s funeral seven years earlier! If Shuri is to live these seven difficult years all over again, she’s going to do things differently. Can she write her own fairy tale ending this time around?

Another manhwa series set to make its print debut is Who Made Me a Princess by writer Plutus and artist Spoon. It is a full-color fantasy comic about a modern woman who is reincarnated as the doomed princess in a romance novel. It was originally published by Korean art studio CARROTOON and in English on the Tappytoon website. 

The first print volume will be released in North America in March 2023 as single large-trim paperback editions. 

Who Made Me a Princess is described by Seven Seas as:  

The story of Athanasia, forsaken princess of the Obelian Empire, ends with her execution at the hands of her own father—or does it? Her tragic tale is the plot of the novel The Lovely Princess. But now, a modern woman who read the book has just woken up as baby Athanasia herself, filled with her own memories and knowledge of the story she’s stuck in! Determined to survive her doomed fate, infant Athanasia embarks on this new life with a plan: avoid attention and hoard valuables to fund her escape. When her plan goes awry, she suddenly needs to charm her way into the good graces of her father, the beautiful tyrant emperor, so he doesn’t kill her again!

Seven Seas Entertainment is also teaming up with webcomic publisher Hiveworks Comics to release Shilin Huang’s Amongst Us. The full-color graphic novel is a slice of life romantic comedy comic series about lesbian couple Blackbird and Veloce. 

Amongst Us – Book One will be released in print worldwide in July 2023 as large-trim trade paperback editions. The printed graphic novel will come with an exclusive new cover and an eBook edition will also be available on digital platforms.

Veloce loves Blackbird. Blackbird loves Veloce. These two young women may have strange chemistry and seemingly nothing in common, but somehow, their offbeat relationship works.
