Switching to an affordable pre-paid phone plan is never a bad idea—especially when you get a free iPhone in the process. To celebrate the holidays, Cricket Wireless is offering a free iPhone or Android device when you transfer your number and open an Unlimited line. Plus, there’s a cheap new plan for tablets.

This is a pretty straightforward deal. Switch from your existing carrier, join Cricket Wireless’ $60 a month Unlimited plan (which includes 15GB of tethering data and an HBO Max membership), and score a free phone. And if you bring multiple lines to Cricket, it’ll give you multiple free phones.

The following devices are eligible for this deal:

  • Apple iPhone SE (2020 Edition)
  • Motorola G 5G
  • Samsung Galaxy A13
  • Motorola G Power

Additionally, Cricket is unveiling its Unlimited Simply Tablet Plan. It’s a pretty slick deal; if you’re already an Unlimited subscriber, you can add four tablets to Cricket’s network for just $15 a month.

Cricket Wireless uses AT&T’s networks, so it offers the reliable coverage that you’d expect from an expensive postpaid carrier. All Cricket Wireless plans include 5G connectivity, plus unlimited talk and text.

Now, if you’re trying to save money, this may not be the best deal on the planet. A cheaper plan with restricted data could save you about $20 a month (compared to Cricket’s $60 Unlimited plan). But if you need a new phone today, I suppose that you could take advantage of this deal and downgrade to a cheaper Cricket plan later.
