Japanese singer-songwriter Sasanomaly (also known as vocaloid song producer nekobolo) has posted a full music video for his latest song “Sora to Utsuro,” which has been featured as the OP theme for the summer 2021 TV anime The Case Study of Vanitas. The song was also digitally released on July 16.

While working as a vocaloid song producer using Hatsune Miku, Kagamine Rin, Kagamine Len, and Megurine Luka, he made his major debut from Sony Music Associated Records in November 2016 under the name Sasanomaly. His first single song “Takarabako” was used as the OP theme for the TV anime Natsume Yujin-cho‘s fifth season.

“Sora to Utsuro” (The Sky and Emptiness) is his second anime theme song work. Its music video was directed by Nasty Men$ah, an up-and-coming young video director who has worked with a wide range of high-profile artists, and expresses the new world of the song by capturing the theme of “The Sky and Emptiness” from a bird’s eye view.

It was also announced that Sasanomaly will release a mini-album containing “Sora to Usturo” on September 8, 2021. The album will include seven songs inspired by The Case Study of Vanitas, of which Sasanomaly has been a big fan.
