The maniac who tried to abduct a Bronx toddler in broad daylight was held on $15,000 bail at his Tuesday night arraignment and ordered to stay away from the young victim.

Santiago Salcedo, 27, appeared unkempt and kept mostly quiet during his appearance at Bronx Criminal Court that was attended by three of his family members.

He was arraigned on an attempted abduction charge for allegedly trying to kidnap 3-year-old Lilianna Repka on Monday as the little girl was walking with her grandmother at the corner of East Tremont Avenue and Baisley Avenue in Schuylerville.

Salcedo grabbed Lilianna, wrapped her in a blanket and ran off, according to police, but dropped the little girl after he was confronted by a good Samaritan who heard the grandmother’s screams.

Earlier Tuesday, the girl’s mother, Jana Repka, told The Post in an interview that she wants the “crazy” suspect to get help.

“I want to press charges but I don’t want him to go to jail. I want him to get help. Jail is not going to help him,” the mother said.

At his arraignment, Salcedo’s public defender, Angeline Andersen, quote Jana when asking Judge Seth Steed for some leniency.

“I ask that your honor have that same compassion and understanding for Mr. Salcedo that the complainant’s mother did,” Andersen said.

Anderson requested her client receive “medical treatment and mental health services,” which the judge granted.

When setting bail, the judge described the case as “very serious.”

“The defendant faces up to 15 years in prison for the alleged kidnapping of the 3-year-old girl,” said Steed.

Salcedo’s family members refused to comment on his case when leaving the courthouse.
