#Samsung’s Galaxy S22 Ultra Ditches the Camera Bump, Here Are Photos to Prove It – Review Geek

Look ma, no camera hump! After months of leaks and rumors, Front Page Tech has released the first real photos of a Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra (allegedly real, at least). And just as we expected, it looks like one of Samsung’s discontinued Galaxy Note-series handsets.

Like the aging Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, the new Galaxy S22 Ultra features a dedicated S-Pen slot, a squared design, and a curved WQHD+ 6.81-inch display. It looks a bit thicker than previous entries in the Galaxy S-series, likely to accommodate the stylus and the flat-backed design.

But you know what’s the most exciting thing about these photos? They look nearly identical to LetsGoDigital’s mockups, which were based on information from inside sources. If those mockups are accurate, then other S22 Ultra leaks that focus on features and specs may also be accurate.

So what else do we know about the Galaxy S22 Ultra? Well, it appears to have the same camera array as last year’s S21 Ultra—same sensor sizes too. Rumor has it that Samsung will improve photo quality on the S21 Ultra with minor hardware upgrades and software changes. (The S21 Ultra has a 108MP main lens, but it uses pixel binning to bring images down to 12MP.)

Also, it seems that the Galaxy S22 Ultra is the only phone to take on Samsung’s Galaxy Note design language. The base-model Galaxy S22 and S22+ will retain their camera bumps and look similar to last year’s S21 lineup. That said, we expect these cheaper phones to get a decent camera upgrade.
