Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg officiated an outdoor wedding on Sunday, just weeks after her hospitalization in July.
The 87-year-old, who is being treated for cancer, presided over the marriage of family friends Barb Solish and Danny Kazin.
“2020 has been rough, but yesterday was Supreme,” Solish, the communications director for the National Alliance on Mental Illness, tweeted alongside a photo of Ginsburg during the nuptials.
Ginsburg wore her black judicial robe with a decorative black and white embroidered collar, and accessorized the look with pearl earrings.
The bride noted on Twitter that both she and her husband “tested negative” for COVID-19 before the ceremony.
The judge is a close friend of one of the newlyweds’ families and the celebration took place at a private residence, a court spokeswoman said. But it wasn’t clear where, exactly, in the country the wedding was held.
Ginsburg revealed in July that she was undergoing chemotherapy for a recurrence of cancer — but insisted she had no plans to retire.
