We some great news for the Resident Evil franchise fans as one of its games might be getting a remake. This year’s Sony PlayStation Showcase brought a lot of exciting revelations about loads of games including God of War: Ragnarok and Marvel’s Spiderman 2. Among these revelations, were some hidden teases which some fans quick to notice and theorize. One such hint was regarding the Resident Evil franchise and here’s what it’s about.

Some fans believe that Resident Evil 4 remake is under development ever since the PlayStattion Showcase event. In Sony’s most recent “Play Has No Limits” advert for the PlayStation brand, they spotted one particular frame which might hint towards its development.

A Reddit user called “CoronaBeer51” spotted the Las Plagas parasite symbol in the PlayStation advert mentioned above. If you look closely, you can see it around the 1:46 mark in the standalone video. This is the frame where the military is entering a palatial building and you can spot the symbol to the right of the main doorway. Fans must know that Las Plagas are the parasites that infect the villagers in Resident Evil 4.

We all know that Resident Evil 4 isn’t a Sony exclusive game and isn’t even available on PS5. So, is this small hint was actually meant to be a tease, it means only one thing i.e., Resident Evil 4 remake is under development. Again, that is only if this was meant to be a tease.

Additional Leaks

This is not the only leak we have heard regarding Resident Evil 4 remake in the recent. Months ago, a leaker named nothanks-bro posted a bunch of leaks regarding Resident Evil 4 remake. According to him, the game will be available for Next Gen consoles (PS5 and Xbox Series X/S) and PC only. He also leaked that the developers are calling it “the chainsaw project” and will be considerably longer and bigger than the original.

The game is being rebooted because it was exactly like the original with improved graphics. But they wanted something unique with simple changes that “improve the experience”.
It would be Semi-Open World style with photo mode, and you can also change between first- and third-person camera.
The game has a lot of lore connections with RE2, 3 remake, including the return of The CP shop from RE3 remake.
The voice actors and face models for Leon, Ada and Claire are the same from the RE 2 remake.
It might be released sometime in 2023 with Sony offering a lot for a PS5 timed exclusivity (between 6 months and 1 year).
