If you’re a fan of Apple’s MagSafe wireless magnetic charging system but don’t use iPhone, we have good news. Today, Realme announced its new MagSafe alternative for an Android phone, and they’re calling it MagDart.

We saw reports on this earlier in the year when the company first started teasing this new technology, but now it’s official. More importantly, Realme MagDart charging is significantly faster than Apple’s system. While Apple’s MagSafe tops out at only 15W, Realme’s MagDart supports up to 50w charging speeds, which is drastically faster.

Like MagSafe, Realme integrated magnets into the phone’s back to make MagDart attach to devices and keep the wireless charger securely attached. According to the announcement, MagDart magnets are strong enough to hold over 1.1lbs of weight. So we’re hopeful that it’ll hold in place better than Apple’s solution.

Realme claims the new magnetic charger is just as fast as its 50W SuperDart charger, where it can fully charge a 4,500 mAh phone from 0-100 in just over 50 minutes. They’ve achieved that feat by using active air cooling to keep temps down and the power juices flowing.

And just like Apple, Realme will also offer a MagDart power bank that magnetically attaches to the back of your phone. As expected, the company also debuted a slew of cases and accessories that can take advantage of this new magnetic system in its phone. It’ll even offer a magnetically powered beauty selfie light that clips to the back and folds out for improved lighting for selfies.

Unfortunately, there’s no word regarding when the first phone with MagDart, the Realme Flash, will go on sale. Nor did they mention release details on other phones or accessories coming at a later date. That said, it’s safe to assume this is just one of many MagSafe alternatives for Android that are on the way.
