The Breadman has Hart.

The NHL announced Tuesday that Rangers star forward Artemi Panarin is a finalist for the Hart Trophy, awarded annually to the “player judged most valuable to his team,” along with the Oilers’ Leon Draisaitl and the Avalanche’s Nathan MacKinnon.

All three players were also announced as finalists for the Ted Lindsay Award, given to the most outstanding player as voted by fellow members of the NHL Players Association, last week as well.

Panarin is the first Ranger to be named a finalist for the Hart Trophy since veteran goaltender Henrik Lundqvist in 2011-12. He is the first skater to be named a finalist for the award since Jaromir Jagr in 2005-06.

In his first 69 games since signing a seven-year, $81.5 million contract with the Rangers, Panarin established career highs with 32 goals and 63 assists. He was a plus-36 and led the league in even-strength points (71) and assists (46).
