#Raiders ‘scared’ for hospitalized Trent Brown after IV mishap

Las Vegas offensive tackle Trent Brown remained hospitalized Monday, one day after a pregame IV mistake dangerously resulted in air in his bloodstream.

Brown had missed the Raiders’ previous game in Week 7 because of COVID-19, but he was supposed to play Sunday against Cleveland until the pregame mishap prompted medical concerns over a potential air embolism, according to NBC’s Pro Football Talk.

The NFL Players Association has launched an investigation, the PFT website reported, citing sources. An air embolism is a potentially life-threatening condition.

Raiders quarterback Derek Carr and his teammates expressed concern about Brown following Sunday’s 16-6 win over Cleveland.

“Honestly, I’m human; I got a little scared for Trent,” Carr said. “I was like, man, I hope he’s OK. We had no clue what was happening. All of a sudden, we come in, and they’re wheeling him out and I’m like, ‘Bro, what is going on?’ It was crazy and so we prayed.

“As a team, we prayed for him. We made sure he was OK, his family, because I’m sure they were scared to death. But then, you have to compartmentalize what just happened with ‘We have to go win a football game.’”
