#Queen Elizabeth, Prince Philip not behind Archie skin ‘concerns’

Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip were not the Royal Family members who raised concerns about how dark Archie’s skin might be, according to a royal expert.

Meghan Markle revealed in her tell-all Oprah interview that while still pregnant with Archie, she was told her son wouldn’t have a royal title and that they wouldn’t be entitled to security.

There were “also concerns and conversations about how dark his skin might be when he’s born,” she said.

The Duchess of Sussex wouldn’t reveal who raised those concerns — but a royal watcher told The Sun that the queen and her husband were not a part of it.

“I should be clear here, I’ve been told it’s not the Queen, and it’s not the Duke of Edinburgh,” Chris Ship, ITV News’ Royal Editor, told the publication.

“So that only leaves two family members,” he added. “The two people you are left with is either his father Prince Charles or his brother Prince William or their wives.”

However, the royal expert said the queen didn’t come away unscathed from the bombshell interview.

“That’s pretty serious,” he continued. “They protected the Queen throughout this. But equally they are criticizing the institution of which she is head, and therefore you’re criticizing his grandmother the Queen.”

Asked about the conversation later in the interview, Harry refused to elaborate much more.

“That conversation I am never going to share, but at the time it was awkward, I was a bit shocked,” he said.

But he did say that discussion of “what will the kids look like?” came “right at the beginning.”

“That was right at the beginning, when she wasn’t going to get security, when members of my family were suggesting that she carries on acting, because there was not enough money to pay for her, all this sort of stuff,” he said.

“Like, there was some real obvious signs before we even got married that this was going to be really hard.”

Archie, the first child of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, was born in May 2019.

The couple is expecting a second child and revealed it will be a girl Sunday night.
