NFTs are rapidly making their way into Hip Hop, and rappers are cashing in wherever they can to double up on their money. Post Malone had become the latest rapper to get involved with the new wave when he recently purchased a pair of NFTs worth many coins.

On Sunday (November 14), MoonPay, a service that allows people to buy and sell cryptocurrency, shared a video on their TikTok of their latest artist partnership. In their video, Post Malone is sitting on his phone purchasing two Bored Ape NFTs and he says his friends are going “to freak out” because they love everything about non-fungible tokens.

Posty purchased Bored Ape #961 and #9039 for a combined total of 160 ETH (Ethereum). As of now, 1 ETH equals $4,689.03, which means the “Sunflower” rapper dropped a total of $734,401.60 on his two Bored Apes. If any of this sounds familiar, Lil Baby purchased a Bored Ape earlier this month.

TikTok user @Mona_Vinci looked into Baby’s purchase and discovered it’s all its NFT glory worth over $150,000. Lil Baby copped Bored Ape #129 on the NFT marketplace OpenSea for 37.99 ETH, which equates to approximately $171,794 at the time.

The cartoon primate was created by Bored Ape Yacht Club, a highly coveted collection of NFT avatars developed by Yuga Labs that has generated around $1 billion worth of trading volume. Steph Curry, Waka Flocka Flame and Von Miller are among the celebrities who bought an ape.
