#Pokémon Unite Launches on Switch First This July

Pokémon Unite

Pokémon Unite is an upcoming free-to-start MOBA that has players competing in Aeos Island’s Unite Battle Committee tournaments with their Pokémon. The game’s official YouTube channel went up with a new trailer today, revealing plans to bring the game to Switch first in July. A mobile release on iOS and Android will follow this September.

All players have one Pokémon on hand for the matches, and team up with five other players to attempt to capture control points and battle wild Pokémon and Trainers for points. Pokémon level up and learn new moves during matches, and believe it or not, the team with the highest score at the end of the match wins.

Cross-play and cross-save support will be included in Pokémon Unite. For a better idea of how the game plays—and some fun cinematics to kick things off—check out the new trailer below.

As for how other aspects of the game work, Pokémon Unite has in-game Aeos coins and tickets, as well as paid Aeos gems. Gems and coins can be used to purchase Unite Licenses, which in turn let you use a variety of different Pokémon in the tournaments, while all three types of currency can be used for clothing and accessories.
