Bryson DeChambeau’s latest antics aren’t winning him any points with Paige Spiranac.

Discussing the 26-year-old golf sensation on a recent episode of her “Playing A Round” podcast, Spiranac said while she “used to be a big Bryson fan,” certain incidents have led to a change of heart.

“I thought he was doing things that were different, innovative and he is who he is, and I respect that. But in the last three weeks or so, it’s been really hard to be a Bryson fan,” Spiranac said, according to News.com.au. “He’s kind of crossed that line from being different to just being a d–k.”

Last weekend, DeChambeau — who has been sporting a bulkier figure since the PGA Tour’s return from the coronavirus pandemic — debated with a PGA official during the Memorial Tournament in Ohio, asking for a second opinion about a ruling. DeChambeau was debating whether a ball that was underneath a fence was out of bounds. The official’s ruling was confirmed and DeChambeau made a 10 on the hole and missed the cut at Jack Nicklaus’ tournament.

Spiranac later said  DeChambeau’s behavior was “uncalled for.”

“The way he acted to that rules official was so uncalled for and I think it just shows where his headspace is at right now, where he thinks that he is literally pioneering the way that golf is being played, and so he is so far and beyond everyone else that he can tell a rules official, who their job is to know the rules inside and out, and for Bryson to say, ‘I don’t believe you, I need a second ruling.’ Who do you think you are?” Spiranac, a former college golfer at Arizona and San Diego State, said.

Currently ranked No. 7 on the PGA Tour, DeChambeau has been garnering plenty of attention this month, for his stunning power and improved results — including a victory at the Rocket Mortgage Championship. DeChambeau also made headlines at that tournament for arguing with a CBS cameraman following a wayward bunker shot.

“I sometimes can’t believe it. There were years where I hit 5-iron into that hole, and now I’m hitting a 30-yard little shot. It’s wild. I’m just blessed that I’ve been able to figure some stuff out with the driver. Got a lot more to work on with the wedging and iron play,” he previously said.

Like DeChambeau, Spiranac is also no stranger to controversy in the golf community, previously opening up about struggles she faced to fit in.
