#Oregon man displaced by wildfire charged with killing man at motel

An Oregon man displaced by one of the state’s devastating wildfires was charged with killing a man at a motel he was temporarily living in, according to a report.

Robert Keegan, 47, is accused of fatally shooting 19-year-old Aidan Ellison in the parking lot of the Stratford Inn in Ashland on Monday morning, KTVL reported, citing police.

Keegan, who was staying at the motel with his young son, got angry at Ellison for playing loud music in the parking around 4 a.m., according to Ashland Police Chief Tighe O’Meara.

The suspect confronted Ellison and allegedly fatally shot him, authorities said.

Ellison was found with a gunshot wound to his chest.

Keegan was arrested and charged with murder, manslaughter and unlawful possession of a firearm, the report said.

The suspect and his son, from Talent, were staying at the hotel as victims of the Almeda fire.

The wildfire, which burned in September, decimated the cities of Talent and Phoenix.
