#One Piece Manga resumes after a one-week break: release dates + where to read?

• The chapter began with a touching scene at Foosha Village, where Woop Slap refused to accept the news of Garp’s death. He was confident that the legendary Marine hero was still alive and well. Meanwhile, Makino’s son laughed at Luffy’s photograph on the newspaper. Makino smiled and asked him if he liked Luffy.

The scene then shifted to Mt. Colubo, where Dadan read the news with tears in her eyes. She wondered what Garp and Luffy were up to and prayed that they were okay.

The world falls into chaos along with Lulusia Kingdom

• The mood then changed drastically as a massive earthquake rocked the world. The earthquake was caused by the destruction of Lulusia Kingdom, which left a huge hole in the sea. The hole was similar to the one beneath Enies Lobby.
• The earthquake had devastating effects on the world. The sea level rose by a meter, swallowing many islands and causing panic and confusion. We saw how different characters reacted to the disaster, such as Franky’s family in Water 7, Crocus and Laboon at Twin Cape, Kin’emon and his allies in Wano Kuni, and many more.

Kizaru vs. Sentamaru

The focus then shifted to Egghead Island, where Kizaru led a Marine attack on Vegapunk’s base. Kizaru used his light beams to destroy one of Vegapunk’s Sea Beasts. However, he did not launch a full-scale assault on the island, as he wanted to protect it from becoming collateral damage.

• Kizaru then called out to Sentoumaru. He asked Sentoumaru to surrender peacefully, but Sentoumaru refused. He could not believe that Kizaru was willing to kill Vegapunk for researching the forgotten history of the world. Kizaru said that he had no choice but to follow his duty as a Marine and enforce the law.

York begs the Gorosei to save her from Luffy and gang

The chapter then cut to York. She called Mary Geoise and complained that they shouldn’t have tried to kill her along with Vegapunk. The Gorosei replied that they saw her as no different from Vegapunk. However, they said that they might spare her if she helped them make more “Mother Flame” weapons.

• The chapter took a dramatic turn as we saw that York was actually under duress when she made the call. She had Zoro’s sword at her neck and tears in her eyes. In a last-ditch attempt, she begged the Gorosei to save her from Luffy.

The Gorosei were obviously shocked. They’d thought that York had won over the Straw Hats before calling them. They had no idea that Luffy had infiltrated Egghead Island with his crew and captured York. We then saw that the Straw Hats were eating and relaxing in the background. The chapter ended with Nami sighing with understanding and Boney saying that this incident had become a barricade of complexities. Luffy, however, shrugged and said that he did not get it, but he just had to use York as a shield and escape.
