Detective Samuel Lallave, 53, was arrested just before 11 p.m. Wednesday in the confines of the 83rd Precinct, which covers Bushwick, cops confirmed.
The NYPD said that the arrest was the result of an ongoing investigation by the department’s Internal Affairs Bureau, but declined to elaborate further.
A petit larceny charge is given in New York when a person unlawfully takes property or services valued at $1,000 or less.
The specifics of Lallave’s case were not immediately clear.
