#NYPD cracking down on ‘offensive’ stickers on cops’ cars

The NYPD is cracking down on covered license plates and “offensive” stickers on cops’ private vehicles, The Post has learned.

Commanding officers throughout the five boroughs were ordered Friday to have their Integrity Control Officers survey the private cars of all cops and report back any offenders to Chief of Patrol Juanita Holmes by Monday, a memo obtained by The Post revealed.

“The ICO should look for the following: vehicles with license plate covers and offensive or inappropriate stickers/decals/signage,” the memo reads.

Officers are banned from affixing unauthorized bumper stickers to their patrol cars, but it was unclear what prompted the personal vehicle crackdown.

Scofflaws sometimes alter their license plates to make them unreadable to toll and speed cameras.
