#NYC woman arrested after brawl breaks out during Feast of San Gennaro in Little Italy

A woman was arrested after a brawl broke out at a restaurant Friday night during the Feast of San Gennaro in Little Italy, cops and witnesses said.

About eight people began fighting — with two women throwing punches and drinks at each other — at Il Piccolo Buffalo on Mulberry Street around 10 p.m., a worker at the eatery told The Post.

“It was just chaos,” Michael Lewis, 35, said as he swept up glass in the aftermath of the fracas.

“This girl was throwing water from her glass,” Lewis recalled. “She was throwing punches at the other girl.”

“She kept saying the girl was jealous of her because she has a fat butt,” the worker added, laughing.

Lewis, who was washing dishes in the back when the tussle broke out, said he saw “sh-t flying everywhere – glass, water,” adding, “They were throwing everything.” One woman was taken into custody, he said.

Police confirmed there was a fight that resulted in an arrest, but said three to five people were involved. One woman was arrested at the restaurant, according to officers on the scene. There was no word on charges against the suspect as of early Saturday.

The wild incident — which took place as revelers clogged Little Italy for the annual festival — was partially captured on video by GOP mayoral nominee and Guardian Angels founder Curtis Sliwa.

Sliwa, who was campaigning and patrolling at the feast with a group of Guardian Angels, found himself in the middle of the action.

Footage posted by his campaign on Facebook shows someone throwing liquid from behind the bar before one of the vigilantes steps in and restrains a woman.

Sliwa said he was walking down Mulberry Street when he saw shattered glass from the front door of the eatery — and spotted couples squaring off.

“They are like throwing bottles at one another,” Sliwa told The Post. “Another one picks up a metal chair and cracks it over the head of the other one… we had to take total action.”

Lewis said the Guardian Angles showed up before the cops and deescalated the situation.

“They came in and they protected it,” the restaurant worker said. “They kept everybody away and holding down the girl until the cops came.”
