#NYC thieves busted within 15 minutes after snatching handbags

A crew of fashion-forward thieves made off with a pair of pricey Givenchy handbags from high-end retailer Bergdorf Goodman — only to get snatched by cops within 15 minutes.

The Midtown handbag heist took place around 3:45 p.m. Saturday when police said a pair of thieves walked out of the Fifth Avenue store with two bags worth in excess of $3,900.

The duo got into a gray Jeep Cherokee driven by a third suspect and sped off.

They didn’t get very far.

The Jeep was only about a mile and a half from the store when it was stopped by the cops at East 37th Street and Park Avenue.

Police said they found the stolen bags inside the SUV, along with other merchandise that is part of an ongoing investigation.

Jamal Johns, 24, of Newark, New Jersey, was identified of one of the two suspects who took the bags from Bergdorf Goodman and was charged with burglary, possession of burglar tools and possession of stolen property, police said.

Jessica Lane, 32, also of Newark, and driver Anthony McFarland, 36, of Brooklyn, were charged with grand larceny and possession of stolen property, cops said.

Police said Lane and McFarland are also under investigation by federal authorities for their alleged role in several cellphone store robberies.
