#NY Assembly opens hotline for Gov. Cuomo impeachment probe

The state Assembly’s impeachment investigation of Gov. Andrew Cuomo has opened a confidential hotline for people who want to provide information about the actions or conduct of New York’s embattled chief executive.

The Assembly’s Judiciary Committee is probing Cuomo’s decisions regarding nursing homes during the coronavirus, alleged favoritism in administering COVID-19 testing to relatives and pals — as well as allegations of sexual harassment from multiple women.

People who want to provide tips or evidence can call (212) 450-3600, which is a contact number for Davis Polk & Wardwell, the law firm leading the Assembly investigation of Cuomo.

Confidential Informants or witnesses can also contact investigators at [email protected], according to Assembly Judiciary Committee Chairman Charles Lavine.

Assembly Speaker Speaker Carl Heastie on March 11 authorized the Judiciary Committee to begin an impeachment investigation of allegations of misconduct against Cuomo.

The panel has the authority to interview witnesses, subpoena documents and evaluate evidence. When the probe is completed, the panel will recommend whether the Assembly should vote to impeach the three-term Democrat governor.

Cuomo has repeatedly defended his actions and denied any wrongdoing.
