#Nick Chubb, Austin Ekeler latest star running backs to get injured

Browns running back Nick Chubb and Chargers running back Austin Ekeler may have suffered serious injuries early in the first slate of Week 4 Sunday games.

Ekeler had to be helped off the field with an apparent left hamstring injury in the Chargers’ Week 4 matchup against the Buccaneers.

Moments later, Chubb, 24, injured his right knee after his leg was rolled up on. He walked off the field and into the locker room, and was later ruled out for the rest of the game. Ekeler, 25, was declared questionable.

The injury occurred when Cowboys’ tackle Trysten Hill accidentally rolled onto Chubb’s leg during the play. Last week, Hill appeared to injure Seahawks running back Chris Carson by rolling up on his knee and did not face disciplinary action.

The NFL has already lost a slew of star players to serious injuries in the first three weeks of the season including Giants’ Saquon Barkley, Jets’ Le’Veon Bell, Saints’ Michael Thomas, Panthers’ Christian McCaffrey, 49ers’ Nick Bosa and Cowboys’ Leighton Vander Esch.
