Los Angeles, CA – NBA YoungBoy scored another legal victory on Friday (July 15). According to The Advocate, YB was acquitted by a grand jury on federal gun charges he was facing in Los Angeles.

The Baton Rouge native avoided a lengthy seven-year prison sentence the prosecution had been eyeing. YoungBoy was arrested in Los Angeles on March 22, 2021 after a short pursuit — and even on foot — until police found him in a neighbor’s backyard.

The 22-year-old had an outstanding warrant against him stemming from a Baton Rouge weapons arrest and police tried to pull him over once he departed from his L.A. home.

After searching his car, cops reportedly found an FN .45 pistol and 12 rounds of ammunition, which they tied to being in YB’s possession and subsequently arrested him.

An ecstatic NBA YoungBoy was grinning ear-to-ear following the verdict outside the Edward R. Roybal Federal Building as he posed with his winning legal team.

Fans got in on the action, too, as they raged outside the doors of the United States Courthouse in Downtown L.A. after hearing their hero would be walking away scot-free and sang lyrics to some YB classics such as “I HATE YOUNGBOY.”

YoungBoy isn’t out of the woods just yet. He’s still facing a separate gun charge in Baton Rouge after he was arrested in his hometown during a September 2020 video shoot. A status conference for the case is reportedly scheduled for August 2.
