#«My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising»: One For All!

Today the second “My Hero Academia” film celebrates its German disc release. We watched the film and tell you in this review whether the film convinced us …

Finally real superhero work – and all without a teacher! As part of a mediation project, the pupils in class 1a of the Yuei high school on the remote island of Nabu are to represent the aging local superhero and temporarily support the population. What starts out harmlessly at first quickly turns into a dangerous mission: villains target little Katsuma and his specialty and invade the island. Cut off from the outside world, the whole class has to stick together and show what it has learned so far. Especially Izuku and Katsuki grow together to protect Katsuma and the other residents. But will that really be enough against the super powerful Nine, which, like All for One, has several specialties?

My opinion:

I was really looking forward to the second movie about the “My Hero Academia” franchise! Of course, that’s also because I’m a really big fan of the series. First I watched the film in the cinema. At this point I have to say that the film is really a real blockbuster for the cinema! This film just belongs in the cinema. If you have the opportunity to see him in the cinema, then by all means do so!

But now we come to the actual review. The film uses the narrative style and humor of the series, of course, but tells a different adventure outside of school. And that’s exactly what made the film so special. The strip is, in my opinion, for real fans of the series. I advise against watching the film without prior knowledge, but this is also quite possible. Of course you won’t understand the film in some places, but the fighting action should also be interesting for newbies.

I really like the idea behind the film, showing class 1A in action without any support from your teachers. So we get to know the budding heroes again from a new side. I really liked this site! The film even made me pay more attention to some of the characters. As already mentioned, the action is not neglected in this film either. The movie’s final battle is my all-time favorite after the battle between All Might and All for One from season three. It was a roller coaster of emotions and I was torn after the grand finale. You are tormented a lot whether you should be happy or cry and that is exactly what defines the franchise.

The film is optionally available on DVD or Blu-ray and can be purchased in a Stellbook or in Amaray format. I received the steelbook version and was delighted with the way the film was presented. The steelbook looks very good and as extras there was a 44-page booklet with character designs of the Mangaka and a holo postcard from Deku and Katsuki. I think it’s a shame that the steelbook has the same artwork on the front and back. I would have simply wished for a different artwork on the back, as the film offers a lot of good artwork. But by and large this doesn’t detract from the design.

I also praise the high quality of the German dubbing. The speaker cast of the series is here again in the best possible tones. I particularly like Sebastian Fitzner as Deku. Studio Bones also animated this film, so the fight scenes are just amazing, just like in the anime.
