The Mossad spy agency recently thwarted planned or attempted attacks on Israeli embassies in Europe and around the world, according to a report.

While the countries where the terrorists’ attacks were prevented have not been identified publicly, the intelligence agency said their cooperation was instrumental in foiling the plots, the Times of Israel reported on Monday, citing Hebrew-language broadcaster Channel 12.

It said in 2012, Iranian-backed Lebanese terrorist group Hezbollah tried to carry out attacks on Israeli diplomatic missions in India, Georgia and Thailand.

A fire last Thursday at the Natanz nuclear facility in Iran, speculated by some to have been carried out by Israel, caused significant damage and set back Tehran’s uranium enrichment for a year or more, the report said.

Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz on Sunday asked about Natanz said, “not every incident that transpires in Iran necessarily has something to do with us.”

Iran, through its state media, questioned whether Israel or the United States was behind the explosion and fire.

Tehran initially downplayed the level of destruction but later confirmed the extent of the damage.

“We first learned that, fortunately, there were no casualties as a result of the incident, but financial damages incurred to the site due to the incident were considerable,” said Iran’s atomic agency spokesman Behrouz Kamalvandi.

A fire burned the building above Iran's underground Natanz nuclear enrichment facility approximately 200 miles (322 kilometers) south of the capital Tehran, Iran.

Tensions between Jerusalem and Tehran have intensified in the past couple of years.

Iran has continued to stockpile low-enriched uranium in violation of the 2015 nuclear deal signed with the world’s nations.

President Trump withdrew from the Obama-era deal in 2018 and increased sanctions on Iran.

Iran has also ramped up its naval presence in the Persian Gulf after the US killed Iranian Gen. Qassem Soleimani, a top military commander, in a rocket attack in Iraq in January.
