Two additional cast members have been revealed for the upcoming third season of Yatogame-chan Kansatsu Nikki, a short form TV anime based on the regional humor manga by Masaki Andou about a city-slicking Tokyo boy who learns to appreciate the local charms of Nagoya after he moves there and befriends an eccentric local girl. The new cast members include:
Maria Naganawa as Serura Dobe, a girl who was born in Ichinomiya City in Aichi Prefecture. Serura has a strong longing to go to Tokyo, and she also has an inexplicable antipathy for Nagoya, even though she's from the same prefecture.
And Junji Majima as Masahide Tsuji, a butler who serves the Dobe family. While he cares for his "Young Mistress" and looks after her well being, he also tends to offer up harsh but honest truths whenever she is longing to visit Tokyo.
The original Yatogame-chan Kansatsu Nikki manga is serialized in Ichijinsha's Monthly Comic Rex shonen manga magazine. Crunchyroll describes the story of the series as follows:
After growing up in Tokyo, high school student Jin Kaito moves to Nagoya where he meets Yatogame Monaka, a fellow student who puts her Nagoya dialect on full display. With her cat-like appearance and unvarnished Nagoya dialect, Yatogame won't open up to him at all. This popular local comedy is increasing the status of Nagoya through observation of the adorable Yatogame-chan!
The Yatogame-chan Kansatsu Nikki TV anime is directed by Hisayoshi Hirasawa and features animation production by Saetta. The third season of the series will broadcast in Japan on TV Aichi and other stations, but so far the release date for the third season has not yet been revealed.
