#More Details on Real-Life Ghibli Park Announced With Totoro Area Previewed

Studio Ghibli’s newest theatrical outing will be coming to Aichi prefecture’s Ghibli Park when it opens in Fall 2022, alongside the announcement of two new attractions that will appear in the Great Ghibli Warehouse area. The newly revealed My Neighbor Totoro area, which is seen below in the new concept art, as well as the flying ship from Laputa: Castle in the Sky.

The My Neighbor Totoro area is set to recreate the feeling of the world from the beloved animated film, creating a massive space where children can enjoy the area and have fun. The flying ship from Laputa: Castle in the Sky is set to be 6.3 meters and be installed in the Great Ghibli Warehouse area when the first phase of the park opens.

 

The Witch’s House from Earwig and the Witch is set to be recreated in The Valley of the Witch, alongside a restaurant on the banks of the pond in the area that measures 956 square meters, when The Valley of the Witch opens up in the park’s second phase in Fall 2023.

Ghibli Park will sit on the site of the 2005 World Expo in Aichi Prefecture and is scheduled to open its first phase in Fall 2022, with the second phase opening a year later in Fall 2023.
