#Monthly Girls’ Nozaki-kun Manga Author Celebrates Its 10th Anniversary on Twitter

Exactly ten years ago from today, on August 25, 2011, Izumi Tsubaki‘s four-panel comedy manga Monthly Girls’ Nozaki-kun started serialization on Square Enix’s webcomic site Gangan ONLINE. The manga author has posted a commemorative illustration on Twitter to thank the anniversary.

Izuki Tsubaki writes, “I heard that the serialization of Monthly Girls’ Nozaki-kun started ten years ago today. So it’s exactly ten years today! Thank you for ten years! Please continue your kind support!”

The manga’s latest 13th tankobon volume was released in Japan on August 11, 2021, and the total circulation of the series has reached eight million copies according to the volume’s wrap-around band.

The manga’s TV anime adaptation was aired for 12 episodes from July to September 2014, and all episodes are available on Crunchyroll.

Synopsis:

Chiyo Sakura, a high school girl who fell in love with the unrefined boy schoolmate Umetaro Nozaki, decides to be courageous one day and asks him out. Her feelings weren’t conveyed properly, and before she knew it she ends up helping a particular job of his as an assistant… The series is a shojo manga boy comedy which centers around Nozaki, a high school boy that is a popular shojo manga artist, and has a story woven by very individualistic characters.
