Gamescom 2024 will take place again in August. Now there has been the first major trade fair cancellation by an exhibitor.

There is currently not much information about trade fair acceptances and cancellations from game publishers and developers – until now! Console giant Nintendo has officially canceled its participation in gamescom 2024, as various media reports.

Upon request from industry colleagues GamesWirtschaft.de Nintendo said: “Gamescom is a central event in Nintendo’s event calendar. This year, however, after careful consideration, we decided against taking part in Cologne. Instead, players can try out the games for Nintendo Switch as part of other Germany-wide events.”

Nintendo was only represented at the trade fair again in 2023 after several years of abstinence, so this news comes bitterly.
