A homeless man and woman were busted this week for allegedly beating a Manhattan bus driver who booted them for hassling a passenger, cops said.

Juan Ortiz, 35, and Shady Newton, 26, were busted around 7:45 p.m. Thursday and each hit with assault charges in connection to the August 31 incident.

The M2 driver was rumbling through the East Village around 10:50 p.m. when he noticed the pair allegedly threatening another rider, according to police.

The driver kicked the pair off the bus at East Eighth and Lafayette streets, then took a break about a block away on Astor Place at the end of the route, authorities said.

That’s when Ortiz and Newton allegedly forced open the door of the bus and climbed aboard, cops said.

Ortiz allegedly ordered Newton to “beat him up,” so she slugged the driver in the face and then they both took off, according to cops.

Police nabbed both suspects more than a week later, around 7:45 p.m. Thursday, authorities said.

The victim suffered only minor injuries, and was treated and released from New York Downtown Hospital.
