“Missy Elliott Immortalized With Scarily Accurate Madame Tussauds Wax Figure”
The Virginia rapper and producer had already been honored last year with her own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, as well as her own street in her hometown of Portsmouth, Virginia this past September. Now, she’s been forever immortalized as a life-like waxwork at Madame Tussaud’s legendary museum.
“ATTENTION: VA My WAX FIGURE is OFFICIALLY immortalized in the @madametussaudsusa Museum in #LasVegas!” Missy wrote on Instagram alongside a picture of her kicking it with her figurine. “It’s acute YOU MUST SEE IT IN PERSON! The braids they did strand by strand! & My outfit is from the @vmas when I received the #Michael Video Vanguard Award!
She added: “Oh BTW my wax figure come with a Virtual Experience & there’s a screen beside it so you can do the #cooloffchallenge & be able to be apart of this EXPERIENCE Thank you so much to the AMAZING team who made this Historical.”

Missy Elliott is just the latest iconic rapper to be commemorated with her own wax figurine. A not-nearly-as-lifelike Nicki Minaj wax statue was unveiled at Maddam Tussads’ Berlin location in 2020, and most recently Kanye West‘s figure was removed from the London museum entirely after the Yeezy mogul’s anti-Semitic tirade these past few weeks.
“Mumbling & cackling??? nah omg thank you Missy,” Nicki responded. “You kicked down this [door]. Nothing but Love & Respect for your iconic artistry. #VMAs #NickiVmas #VideoVanguard.”
Earlier this year, Lil Wayne also showed the Grammy-winning rapper love when he listed Missy Elliott at the top of his Hip Hop Mount Rushmore.
“It’s always gonna be first Missy Elliott,” Weezy told Fox Sports host Nick Wright. “She’s a huge influence of everything I’ve ever done. JAY-Z is the best ever to speak. Biggie, obviously. Then I have the whole Goodie Mob. Then I have UGK.”
Missy Elliott herself has been humble through all the praise. During her street unveiling in September, she took a moment to show gratitude to her late grandmother.
“#757 VA my Grandma who passed when I was young always told me to stay PRAYED UP & DREAM BIG,” she wrote. “A BlvdTears of JoyI have been BLESSED so much but this right here hits my heart differently.”
She added: “I am so HUMBLY GRATEFUL to be from P-TOWN 2up2down The ENTIRE VA.”
