Yuki Kajiura is back with another epic soundtrack! The prolific composer, lyricist, and producer has released a new, 39-track soundtrack album for Sword Art Online -Progressive- Scherzo of Deep Night worldwide to coincide with the film’s subbed & dubbed release in US, Canada and many other English-speaking territories this past weekend.
To celebrate the film & soundtrack release, Milan Records is giving away a Sword Art Online prize pack featuring Sword Art Online -Progressive– merch courtesy of Aniplex of America. Fans in the US & Canada have a chance to win one of five SAO prize packs, featuring a Sword Art Online -Progressive– Scherzo of Deep Night movie poster plus a pair of Kirito & Mito Potato Plush Mascots. To enter, all you have to do is follow the official Sword Art Online Series Playlist featuring soundtracks by Yuki Kajiura & more songs from the series using this link by February 13th. Winners will be announced on Milan Records socials on Tuesday February 21st.
In addition to her extensive work composing for the Sword Art Online series, Kajiura has also composed music for a wide range of music for animation, film and television, in addition to producing and writing music for various artists. Her recent works include the historical documentary series Rekishi Hiwa Historia, SWORD ART ONLINE -Alicization- War of Underworld, Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Fate/stay night【Heaven’s Feel】and more. She is also active through her solo project “FictionJunction.”
Written by Sword Art Online creator Reki Kawahara, Sword Art Online Progressive is a reboot series that offers a deeper look at where it all began, on Aincrad’s first floor. 2021 saw the launch of an all-new animated film series based on Progressive. The first film in the series, Aria of a Starless Night, a rebooted Aincrad Arc seen from Asuna’s point of view rather than Kirito’s, debuted at No. 1 in Japan’s weekend box office revenue rankings, and was a long-running hit staying in theaters nationwide for 10 weeks.
