Japanese publisher Tokyo News Tsushinsha announced on July 29 that anime voice actress Sumire Uesaka‘s much-awaited second photo collection book is set to be released this fall. Her first book “Sumire-iro” was released in December 2019 and immediately got reprints due to its strong sales.

Photos in her self-produced second book were already shot in Okinawa and Tokyo. It is boldly packed with what she wanted to, such as “I want to frolic in a bikini under a blue sky,” “I want to eat hot ramen noodles in a Chinese outfit,” “I want to be a bunny girl,” “I want to walk around in a maid outfit,” “I want to be a sexy adult lady in a tight knit,” and more. The book also includes newly written mini-essays describing her thoughts on each costume and concept. Her image has been renewed from the ennui of the first book “Sumire-iro” and there are many healthy photos with a lot of smiling faces.

Believing that it is worthwhile for me to do now what everyone else experiences in their teens, I have been enjoying my belatedly-arrived youth by taking girls’ trips to hot spring resorts, frolicking on the beach, and doing my favorite cosplay!

The editorial staff told me, “You can do whatever you want with Sumire-chan’s own produce,” so I thought about the outfits and situations I had always wanted to wear, and out of curiosity, I took on the challenge, which turned out to be more fun and enjoyable than I had imagined… I never dreamed that the day would come when I would be wearing a typical authentic bikini on a southern island.

I also show a lot of “smiles,” which I have always been uncomfortable with. I was 27 years old when I shot my last book, “Sumire-iro,” and I was 29 or 30 this time. I learned the lesson that people can grow even in just two or three years. Please check out the results of my nightly practice of smiling in front of the mirror (I’m writing the essays right now…!)
