Masamune-kun’s Revenge R, the second season of 2017’s Masamune-kun’s Revenge, has received its first promotional video. It was also revealed that the show will begin airing in Spring 2023.

The Masamune-kun’s Revenge R trailer includes a preview of the newly announced opening song “Please, please!” by Ayaka Oohashi. It also shows some footage of new character Muriel Besson, who has been revealed to be voiced by Miku Itou. In addition to Itou, it was announced that Yasuyuki Kase is joining the cast as Franck Besson.

An advance screening of the first episode will be held at United Cinemas Toyosu on January 7.

Masamune-kun’s Revenge is based on the manga written by Hazuki Takeoka and drawn by Tiv, which ran from 2012 to 2018 in Ichijinsha’s Monthly Comic Rex. 11 tankoubon volumes were published under the Rex Comics label, with the final volume serving as an afterstory. The first season of Masamune-kun’s Revenge aired from January to March 2017, while an OVA was released in July 2018.

The returning staff for Masamune-kun’s Revenge R includes Mirai Minato as director, Michiko Yokote as series composer and one of the scriptwriters, Yuuki Sawairi as character designer and chief animation director, Studio Shamrock’s Atsuki Sato as photography director, and Tatsuya Kato as music composer. SILVER LINK. is once again the animation production company. New staff members include Shiho Mizumoto (Deep Insanity: The Lost Child) as color designer and Natsumi Inoue (Higurashi: When They Cry – Gou animation director) and Yukiko Akiyama (Shoot! Goal to the Future character designer) as sub-character designers.

Meanwhile, the returning cast includes Natsuki Hanae as Masamune Makabe, Ayaka Ohashi as Aki Adagaki, and Inori Minase as Yoshino Koiwai.
