The production team of the fourth season of Golden Kamuy has revealed that a new character named Ariko (voiced by Masaaki Mizunaka) will join its cast. The new season is set to premiere sometime in October 2022. 

Mizunaka joins Chikahiro Kobayashi and Haruka Shiraishi as Saichi Sugimoto and Asirpa, who are both respectively reprising their roles from previous seasons. 

The production staff for season four includes Shizutaka Sugahara (Grimms Notes: The Animation, Rin-ne, and D-Frag! director) as chief director, Noboru Takagi as series screenwriter, and Takumi Yamakawa (To Your Eternity, In/Spectre animation director) as character designer. Other staff members involve Tooru Koga (Shinkansen Henkei Robo Shinkalion Z) as art director, Yuuku Fukuda (To Your Eternity) as color designer, Oda Yorinobu (To Your Eternity) as photography director, and Kenichirou Suehiro as music composer. Brain’s Base is handling the fourth season’s animation production, taking over for Geno Studio. 

Golden Kamuy is based on a manga series by Satoru Noda, which was first serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Young Jump from August 21, 2014 to April 28, 2022. The series concluded with 31 total tankoubon volumes and was first published under the Young Jump Comics label. Viz Media releases the manga series in English.

The first and second seasons of Golden Kamuy premiered in 2018 while the third season premiered in 2020. Crunchyroll has streamed the previous seasons and describes the show as:
