#Married teacher accused of having sex with teen, sending nude photos

A married British teacher is accused of having sex with a 15-year-old student in a field and sending him topless photos on Snapchat that were shared with his classmates, according to reports.

Kandice Barber, a 35-year-old teacher at Princes Risborough School in Buckinghamshire, allegedly told the teen she may have been pregnant with his child after initially approaching him during a school function in September 2018, Metro reports.

“She had possession of his phone, she put her details into his Snapchat account,” prosecutor Richard Milne told the Aylesbury Crown Court.

“He thought it was a bit weird as he was mates with her son, who was at the same school. Things developed on her part by sending him messages. She would tell him she was having a bath or a shower and then ask him if he wanted to meet.”

Barber then allegedly picked the teen up in her car before the pair went to a field to have sex. Photos of the married mother later started circulating among students at the secondary school about 40 miles northwest of London, according to the report.

“He was not proud of what happened, he was not showing off, it was not some sort of fantasy,” Milne told jurors. “He was extremely concerned and nervous when the rumors were going around.”

Barber had two other sexual encounters with the student, prosecutors allege.

The teen told police in March 2019 he had been messaging with Barber for months after he turned 16, but denied having sex with the teacher, Metro reports.

“I lied because she had told me she could be pregnant with my child and I began to panic,” the teen told an investigator. “I lied to pretty much everyone except my friends. She said that if I was going to snitch, snake on her basically, she was going to bring me down with her.”

Barber, who was arrested a day later, denied having sex with the teen in a prepared statement given to police, Metro reports.

Barber, of Wendover, Buckinghamshire, later lost her pregnancy and claimed her husband was the child’s father, according to the report.

But Barber, who told police her Snapchat account must have been hacked, admitted to a social worker to sending a topless photo of herself to the teen, The Sun reports.

“She said that she was going through a bad patch with her husband, that she was pregnant but lost the child, they wanted another but it was not happening,” Milne told jurors. “Things were strained between her and her husband. The boy had paid her attention and she let her guard down and started to talk to him.”

Barber, whose trial is ongoing, has pleaded not guilty to charges including causing or inciting a child aged under 16 years to engage in a sexual act, sexual communication with a child, causing of inciting a child to engage in sexual activities while in a position of trust and causing a child to watch a sexual act by a person in a position of trust, The Sun reports.
