Make way for Naruto – Boruto is here now! And with him a new generation of young heroes in training with lots of old and new acquaintances!
Boruto Uzumaki, son of Naruto and Hinata, joins the Ninja Academy to tread the path of the ninja and to follow in his father’s great footsteps. He is now not only a loving husband and proud father of two children, but also the seventh Hokage of Konohagakure and has finally achieved his long-contested dream of a lifetime. But one’s joy is the other’s sorrow, because Boruto is seen by his classmates only as the “son of Naruto” and is not taken for full. But Boruto’s commitment and his stubborn character soon manage to dispel all prejudices. Together with Shikamaru and Temari’s son Shikadai, Inos and Sais’ son Inojin, Sakura’s and Sasuke’s daughter Sarada and many other ninja pupils, he experiences all kinds of adventures around his village and meets many old and new friends.(Description: Amazon.de)

My conclusion:
As a long-time Naruto fan, I was of course really looking forward to a sequel to the franchise. Despite the great anticipation, of course I also viewed the series with a critical eye. First of all, it has to be positively mentioned that the episodes of the series are abundantly available on Crunchyroll. So there is nothing standing in the way of a “Boruto” marathon.
As a Naruto fan you understand the connections quickly. The connection between the individual characters can also be clearly seen. The series got off to a difficult start, but after a few episodes you get used to the narrative and the background stories. Of course, the successor to Naruto doesn’t shy away from filler episodes either, but a different narrative technique is used here. Much is not what a Naruto fan might have wished for. We experience the story of Boruto, who is very similar to his father. But he also finds the way of the ninja more and more and solves the problems in his own way. The other main characters are also very similar to their parents. You use your inherited powers and jutsus, but develop them in your own way. So developed z. B. Boruto his own Rasengan. The time in which Boruto plays looks very modern and is adapted to our time. In addition to becoming a ninja, video games, trading cards and movies are also important for the children.
In addition, the animations and the drawing style are really modern and based directly on the predecessor. The animations and jutsus look very visually powerful and colorful and are implemented fluently. The soundtrack and openings match the series and adapt to the plot of the respective arc. By and large, the series is a solid sequel for Naruto fans!
