#New Summer Ghost Trailer Previews More of Its Titular Ghost

The upcoming Summer Ghost movie has received a new trailer, which previews the voices of the other main characters and offers more scenes of the titular “Summer Ghost.” The movie is set to release in Japan on November 12.

Summer Ghost follows Tomoya Sugisaki, Aoi Harukawa, and Ryo Kobayashi, who are troubled high schoolers that become acquainted through the internet. The three teens wish to meet the “Summer Ghost,” an urban legend and ghost in the form of a young woman who is said to appear when there are fireworks. 

The staff includes illustrator loundraw as director, author Otsuichi as scriptwriter, and Akira Kosemura, Toma Itoko, Guiano, and HIDEYA KOJIMA as music composers. loundraw is also responsible for the original character designs and the original concept for the film. FLAT Studio, which loundraw founded, is the animation production company.

Meanwhile, the cast includes Chiaki Kobayashi as Tomoya, Miyuri Shimabukuro as Aoi, Nobunaga Shimazaki as Ryo, and Rina Kawaei as Ayane Sato (the real name of the “Summer Ghost”). 

The movie is part of loundraw’s Project Common multimedia project and is his directorial debut on a theatrical film. loundraw was recently credited with the original character designs for Vivy -Fluorite Eye’s Song-. 

Prior to founding FLAT Studio, loundraw was an illustrator who debuted in 2013 by contributing to the cover of the novel Hoshi no Nemuru Mizuumi e -Ai wo Sagashi Ni-. He later contributed to works like I Want To Eat Your Pancreas and Kimi wa Tsukiyo ni Hikari Kagayaku.

FLAT Studio has previously produced several shorts including Ichiban Chikakute Tooi Hoshi, which was a collaboration between Summer Ghost and the Z-Kai education group.
