#Lou Williams fires back at Kendrick Perkins’ ‘disturbing’ strip-club take

Los Angeles Clippers guard Lou Williams clapped back at former NBAer and current ESPN analyst Kendrick Perkins over criticism of Williams’ visit to an Atlanta strip club to eat wings during an excused absence from the NBA bubble. Perkins wrote on Twitter it was “disturbing” when a rookie like Zion Williamson acts “more mature” than a veteran.

“15 years in this business and this is the most dirt you have on my name is stopping to get hot wings during a pandemic,” Williams, 33, shot back. “Perk. Shut up. And stop laughing and saying it’s just tv when you run into me too.”

During a Monday segment on ESPN’s “Get Up,” Perkins, 35, evaluated the expectations people should have of Williams as a longtime veteran in the league. Williams was excused for a funeral but was caught at the Magic City strip club on rapper Jack Harlow’s Instagram story.

“Come on Lou Will, you’ve got to do better man,” Perkins said. “During this pandemic, you have to do better.”

As of July 20, the NBA had zero players among 346 in the Orlando bubble test positive for COVID-19. The NBA is continuing to strictly enforce protocol as the season is scheduled to restart on Thursday.

“Now what’s going to happen is, the trust is broken,” Perkins said. “Now, for guys who have to leave the bubble, there’s going to be harder restrictions. It’s going to be even harder for them to come back after quarantining as they’re going to have to go through a certain amount of tests.”
