#Long Island elderly man drowns after falling into pool while shoveling snow

An elderly Suffolk County man drowned after he fell into a swimming pool while shoveling snow on Saturday, police said.

Officers from Southold Town Police Department and Fire Department responded to the man’s home in Cutchogue around 8:30 a.m. 

Responders removed the unconscious man from the pool and performed CPR, police told The Suffolk Times.

The man, who has not yet been identified, was transported to Stony Brook Eastern Long Island Hospital in Greenport where he was pronounced dead.

The Southold Town Police Department did not immediately respond to The Post’s request for comment.
