Singer-songwriter LMYK released her new digital single song “Without Love” on February 7 and also posted the song’s music video on her official YouTube channel. The dramatic English-lyric tune is featured as the ending theme for the ongoing second season of the VINLAND SAGA TV anime.

LMYK was born in Osaka, Japan to a German father and Japanese mother. She began making music in New York City while still in college. When Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, one of the world’s leading music producer teams, heard her music and voice, they immediately offered to produce her songs. In November 2020, she made her debut with “Unity,” the theme song for the Japanese dubbed version of the Chinese animation film The Legend of Hei. Her first CD single song “0 (zero)” was used as the ending theme for the 2021 TV anime The Case Study of Vanitas.

“Without Love” was again produced by Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, featuring the most epic arrangement in LMYK’s career, and she sings about love, loss, and freedom, entirely in English. The music video was directed by Oudai Kojima, known for his MV works for Age Factory, STEREO GIRL, and SCANDAL. The clip depicts beautiful images of LMYK walking strongly through a snow field, which is exquisitely linked to the music and the anime story.

Following the first season in 2019, the long-awaited second season of the TV anime adaptation of Makoto Yukimura’s historical adventure manga VINLAND SAGA finally premiered in Japan on January 9, 2023, and has also been simulcast on Crunchyroll for its members in North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East and CIS.
