#LiSA's Demon Slayer TV Anime OP Song Tops Japan's Karaoke Annual Ranking of 2020

Nagoya-based company XING announced the annual rankings for the most popular karaoke songs of the year 2020 today, which were counted by its online karaoke service JOYSOUND (including its sub-brand UGA) between January 1 and November 30, 2020. JOYSOUND started its service in 1992 and has become one of the major karaoke brands in Japan, offering the karaoke industry's largest lineup of more than 320,000 songs.

According to the data, the most popular song in Japanese karaoke this year is LiSA's 15th single song released in July 2019, "Gurenge," which was used as the OP theme for the TV anime Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. The song has not only topped the overall ranking, but also the anime/tokusatsu/game song ranking, beating "Zankoku na Tenshi no Thesis / A Cruel Angel's Thesis," the OP theme for the 1995-1996 TV anime Neon Genesis Evangelion
