#Chained Soldier Drops New Visual for Special Event in Japan

A new visual has been released for the Chained Soldier TV anime series to promote a special event for the series in Japan on July 20, 2024. 

The visual highlights many of the main characters of Chained Soldier, which consist of Yuuki Wakura (in his Shuuki form), Kyoka Uzen, Himari Azuma, Shushu Suruga, and Nei Okawamura. 

Ticket sales for the event will go on sale starting June 18, 2024 at 7,700 yen (US$48.78) each, and will take place at Saitama’s RaiBoC Hall venue. Many of the anime’s main voice cast will be present at the event for a special performance. 

A second season of Chained Soldier has been confirmed to be currently in production. The first 12-episode season aired for a cour earlier this year, from January to March. 

Season one was directed by Goro Kuji (Bungo to Alchemist assistant director), with Junji Nishimura (Vlad Love director) as chief director, Hiroyuki Yoshii (Just Because!) as character designer, Yasuhiro Nakanishi (A Couple of Cuckoos) as series screenwriter, and KOHTA YAMAMOTO (Attack on Titan Final Season co-composer) as music composer. SevenArcs handled the animation production for the series. 

Meanwhile, the main voice cast includes:

The anime is based on the dark fantasy action manga series written by Takahiro and drawn by Yohei Takemura, which began serialization on Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ on January 5, 2019 and has released 15 tankobon volumes as of February 2024, with a 16th volume due out on July 4, 2024. 

HIDIVE is streaming Chained Soldier in select territories outside Japan, and describes the story as: 

Two supernatural forces appeared simultaneously on Earth: entrances to another dimension known as Mato, and Peaches, resources that give unique abilities to women. From the Mato come Yomotsu Shuuki, dangerous monsters that leave destruction in their wake. The government’s Anti-demon Corps stands against these creatures, employing women empowered by Peaches to face the monstrous threat. Yuuki Wakura watches these forces clash from a distance, but when he unexpectedly runs afoul of a Yomotsu Shuuki, he’s rescued by Kyouka Uzen, the chief of the Seventh Unit of the Anti-demon Corp—and she sees something in him that could turn the tide of the monster incursion. Yuki holds the unique power to make Peaches more effective, but he’ll have to become Kyoka’s willing slave to join the fight against the Yomotsu Shuuki and save the world.
