#Shangri-La Frontier Unveils Special Visual for Anime’s Latest Chapter
A new visual has been unveiled for the ongoing Shangri-La Frontier TV anime series, teasing the anime’s next storyline chapter “Journeying Wolf, Be Ambitious.” The visual was drawn from the manga adaptation’s illustrator Ryousuke Fuji.
The 25-episode anime series first premiered in Japan on October 1, 2023, with Crunchyroll, Bilibili, and Muse Asia streaming the show in select countries and territories.
Toshiyuki Kubooka (Wandering Witch: The Journey of Elaina) is directing the anime, with Kazuyuki Fudeyasu (Wandering Witch: The Journey of Elaina) as series screenwriter and scriptwriter, Ayumi Kurashima (Nomad: Megalo Box 2 character designer) as character designer and chief animation director, and MONACA (Assassins Pride) as music composer. C2C is in charge of the animation production.
Other staff members include Hiroki Ikeshita (Wandering Witch: The Journey of Elaina storyboarder and episode director) as assistant director, Satoshi Sakai (The Seven Deadly Sins: Cursed By Light action animation director) as action and effects animator, Masato Takagi (Wandering Witch: The Journey of Elaina) as color designer, and Hikaru Yamamoku (ONE PIECE Vol.100/Ep.1000 Celebration Movies “WE ARE ONE.” assistant photography director) as compositing director.

The anime is based on the manga series written by Katarina and illustrated by Fuji, which was first launched in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine under the KC Deluxe label on July 15, 2020. Sixteen tankoubon volumes have been released as of December 2023. The manga is based on Katarina’s original 2017 web novel from Shousetsuka ni Narou.
