RWBY: Ice Queendom has released a new trailer and visual to preview the next part of its story, with Ruby and her friends trying to save Weiss from the Grimm, “Nightmare”. 

The anime premiered on July 3, with Crunchyroll debuting the first three episodes early in late June. The anime is based on Rooster Teeth’s RWBY, which debuted in 2013 and is set to release its 9th season this year.

RWBY Ice Queendom is described as:

In the world of Remnant, a place where science and fairy tales coexist, human civilization is plagued by deadly monsters known as the Grimm. For a time, victory by the Grimm seemed all but certain, if not for the heroism of those sworn to protect humanity — Huntsmen and Huntresses. These warriors are trained and assembled into teams at schools like Beacon Academy, where Ruby meets Weiss and Blake — forming Team RWBY along with Ruby’s sister, Yang. While team RWBY studies to become the greatest Huntresses the world of Remnant has ever known, they are faced with a horrifying threat…

The staff of RWBY Ice Queendom includes Toshimasa Suzuki (The Prince of Smiles) as director, huke (Black Rock Shooter) as original character designer, Tow Ubukata (Psycho Pass Season 2-3) as series composer and scriptwriter, Nobuhiro Sugiyama (March Comes in Like A Lion) as character designer and chief animation director, and Hiroto Nagata (Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story Season 2 -The Eve of Awakening-) and Kazuki Kawata (Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story Season 2 -The Eve of Awakening-) as main animators. Gen Urobuchi (Fate/Zero author) is credited with the animation draft.

Other staff include Nobuyuki Takeuchi (Fireworks director) as visual director, Kenjiro Okada (Pretty Boy Detective Club episode director) as chief director, Ken Naitou (Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story) as art director, Aizu Yakayuki (Pretty Boy Detective Club) as photography director, Jin Hibino (Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story) as color designer, and Nobuko Toda and Kazuma Jinnouchi (Ghost in the Shell SAC_2045) as music composers. Shaft is the animation production company.

Meanwhile, the cast includes Saori Hayami as Ruby Rose, Yoko Hikasa as Weiss Schnee, Yu Shimamura as Blake Belladonna, Ami Koshimizu as Yang Xiao Long, Hiro Shimono as Jaune Arc, Aya Suzaki as Nora Valkyrie, Megumi Toyoguchi as Pyrrha Nikos, Soma Saito as Lie Ren, and Kazuhiko Inoue as Ozpin.
