Exclusive – Since the outbreak of the COVID-19 virus began in March 2020, an estimated 622,000 people have died in the United States as a result of the outbreak. The virus drove the concert business to its knees, with over 37 million cases reported in the United States alone.

As a means of providing reprieve from the terrible numbers, Swizz Beatz and Timbaland co-founded Verzuz, which began life on Instagram Live as a method to battle the “no-show blues” phenomenon.

Despite the fact that the concert business is progressively waking up from its slumber, the rampaging Delta variety continues to terrorize concertgoers and other guests. As a result, Verzuz is still one of the most secure places to listen to live music.

A screenshot from a Zoom chat between DJ Paul, Bone Thugs-n-Krayzie Harmony’s Bone and Swizz Beatz, as well as Trill Entertainment’s VP Of Entertainment Grady Spivey, was leaked on Monday (August 16), reviving speculation about a possible Three 6 Mafia and Bone Thugs Verzuz collaboration.

Krayzie Bone, who spoke to HipHopDX on Tuesday (August 17), expressed his unwavering confidence that the highly awaited concert will go place.

As Krayzie explains to DX, “it hasn’t been verified yet, but we had discussions about it yesterday.” The likelihood of this happening is quite high.

A Bone Thugs vs. Three 6 Mafia Instagram Live fight was already scheduled to take place, but it was not gonna take place under the Verzuz banner. DJ Paul stated in a November 2020 interview that Swizz Beatz called Krayzie Bone less than an hour before the concert was supposed to begin and persuaded the “Thuggish Ruggish Bone” legend to postpone the event.

“It was always going to happen,” he added. Krayzie Bone recalls that Swizz’s representatives phoned him 35 minutes before the show went live and told him that “we were going to do it on Verzuz, so don’t do it.” And I was like, “Look buddy, we still have to do it, man,” and he agreed. I was thinking to myself, “I have no idea when the Verzuz is going to happen.” Like, ‘We still have to do it,'” she says.

During a conversation on Blurred Culture’s Live With Steve Lobel in 2015, DJ Paul touched on Bone Thugs’ alleged beef with the Memphis group and explained why there wasn’t much to it.

“It wasn’t a real beef,” DJ Paul said at the time. “It was more of a misunderstanding because we was rapping about triple six, devil shit, and tongue twisting over slow beats. We had been doing that since 1989 and then all of a sudden when Bone came out—I think it was 1993. We didn’t know the Faces Of Death album because it was their underground stuff. Just like they probably didn’t know our underground stuff.

We were listening to Faces Of Death, redrum, murder, 6-6-6, and tongue twisting when they released ‘Thuggish Ruggish Bone’ and all of that other things and we heard someone who was sort of on our similar style: Faces Of Death, redrum, murder, 6-6-6, tongue twisting.” We said to ourselves, “Damn, these men have stolen our look!” [Laughs] That’s why we were so enraged by it. After a few of runs into each other, there was some sort of push or shovel involved. Nonetheless, there was never a fight or anything of the sort.”
