#Vocaloid Superstar Hatsune Miku Inspires Her Own Animated Series

As revealed this week in a Deadline exclusive, Vocaloid superstar Hatsune Miku is about to make the leap to an animated series. The production has Crypton Future Media partnering with Graphic India and Carlin West Agency, and there are big plans beyond the series that include original Webtoons and comics based on the idol. 

There aren’t many details at the moment, but the teams are working to create a modern and entertaining story with scripts that longtime Miku fans and newcomers alike should be able to enjoy. An exciting new look is planned for Miku herself, and the original series aims to explore the Mikuverse with a combination of animation, music, and live-action. 

Sharad Devarajan, Co-Founder and CEO of Graphic India, is creating the Hatsune Miku series alongside Carlin West and a team of artists and writers. Devarajan will executive produce the series, as well, with Crypton Future Media CEO Hiroyuki Itoh also on board as executive producer.

Here’s what Devarajan had to say about the endeavor: 

“Hatsune Miku is one of the most defining and trendsetting character entertainment phenomenon’s of the last decade … In the same way she revolutionized the music industry, we are so honored to be working with the legendary Hiroyuki Itoh and his amazing team at Crypton Future Media, to take Miku into a groundbreaking animated series for her millions of fans.”
